Application of high-performance knife gate valves in solid waste treatment projects

Operating Condition Description:
The customer's equipment is a small, mobile solid waste processing device used to process and separate industrial solid waste, livestock waste, and other discarded materials. The medium includes mud, sludge, animal carcasses, fur, etc. The processing technology is based on gas transport separation.

The customer initially used our company's hard-sealed knife gate valve, but their end users reported that compared to their foreign counterparts' equipment, Guaneng's equipment was 30% less efficient. Therefore, they invited us to analyze on-site how to improve equipment efficiency.
After on-site analysis, it was found that the customer uses a compressor to draw in air, transporting materials via gas to separate them. Our knife gate valve, being a metal hard seal, has a relatively large leakage rate. Therefore, using the same compressor equipment requires a longer material suction time, resulting in low equipment efficiency. On-site analysis indicated that improving the knife gate valve's sealing could solve the efficiency problem. Based on the diverse on-site media and complex operating conditions, we recommended a high-performance knife gate valve as a replacement. This offers zero-leakage sealing and addresses corrosion resistance issues in complex operating conditions.

After customer replacement testing, the equipment's efficiency increased by over 40%, exceeding that of the customer's foreign counterparts. Therefore, some of the previous knife gate valves were replaced, and subsequently, large-scale procurement of high-performance knife gate valves for equipment use began. Nearly two years since the replacement, the knife gate valve failure rate has been extremely low, with only one instance of damage caused by customer operational error. Therefore, the customer highly approves of this solution, which has addressed their difficulties and can be promoted within the industry.
